Natural gas keeps Australia running. It’s one of Australia’s main sources of generating electricity. It keeps the lights on by supporting renewables to power our homes. Gas also produces fewer emissions when combusted for energy generation in terms of greenhouse gas than coal, contributing to a cleaner energy future.
Gas also supplies over 40% of the energy1 used by Australian manufacturers to produce products like medical supplies, fertiliser and bricks. It even puts the bubbles in your beer.
As a naturally occurring and abundant resource, natural gas will continue to play an important role in powering Australian homes and businesses. This website is an initiative of Australian Energy Producers, the voice of the Australian oil and gas industry.
